WEDDING DAY EVENTS
CEREMONY
Our ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET in the main sanctuary at James Island Presbyterian Church, located at the northeast corner of Folly Road/171 and Fort Johnson Road.
Parking is available on the church grounds.
POST-WEDDING BRUNCH
Immediately following the ceremony, join us for brunch at High Cotton in historic downtown Charleston.
The restaurant will open for our private party at 12:15 p.m., where you can grab a classic brunch cocktail before a Southern-style meal at 1:00. High Cotton is located at 199 E. Bay Street.

Street parking is available, as well as a garage located at 1 Cumberland Street (entrance on Concord Street), just a short walk away.
WELCOME PARTY
Join us for a welcome party to celebrate your arrival in Charleston - and our last night as an engaged couple. We'll be at The Washout, located at 41 Center Street in Folly Beach, from 8-9 p.m. ET. Stop by to say hello, have an evening cocktail and pick up your welcome bag! Surface parking is available, and The Washout is also in easy walking distance of The Tides Hotel.
WEDDING RECEPTION
The real party will take place that evening in the Dock Room at Bowens Island Restaurant.
Famous for local seafood and a prime view of Charleston sunsets, Bowens Island is a laid-back, Lowcountry staple.

Cocktails and live music begin at 6 p.m. ET (sunset at 6:28 p.m.), with dinner and dancing to follow.

Bowens Island is no-frills, so feel free to change into something more casual – all we ask is please no jeans, shorts or t-shirts.

Or, if you know you look good in something more formal – go for it. Mike and Cara will still be in their wedding attire, so you won’t be alone.

Bowens Island Restaurant is located at 1870 Bowens Island Road.

Off Folly Road, Bowens Island Road is marked by a hand-painted, wooden sign advertising the restaurant and is about five minutes away from Folly Beach.

As you travel down Bowens Island Road, you’ll no doubt think you’re lost – which means you’re going the right way.

Drive until you run out of road, and park anywhere you can. Our party will be in the Dock Room, which is directly over the river.
